HOW TO EMBRACE YOUR CURVES.

At one point in life or the other, we have all been self-conscious about how we look and how others perceive us. Hollywood has created this ridiculous stereotype that for you to be viewed as sexy, you have to fit a particular body type. I have started several workout programs after watching BeyoncĂ©’ singing or watching a movie where the actress looked for ridiculously hot. Those programs did not last long because I was trying to look like someone else. Everybody is unique, just because you have curves does not mean you are unhealthy. I have been with people who I admire because they workout, they eat a healthy balanced diet but they also do not deny themselves that treat one’s in a while. They have curves, and they are proud of them because they are living a full, well-balanced life. Getting to the point where you accept yourself for who you are and live your best life is hard, but we are here to help with that. We came up with several tips to help you embrace your curves.

BE CONFIDENT| OVERCOME SHAME AND EMBARASSEMENT!

When I was in lower primary, I was not the most popular person.
In fact, I was in the opposite of the spectrum.
I was that weird girl who shaved off all her hair while all the girls’ hair was plaited
I was also the shy girl who gave out my socks to make a ball so that the other girls would like me.
Instead of going out to make friends my head would always be buried in a book reading.
So I know a thing or two about shame and embarrassment. Today I decided why not share some of the things I learned about overcoming shame and embarrassment.
If I let the shame and embarrassment take control of my life, I would not be where I am right now.

At the moment you do not seem so great. You feel like you cannot breathe, someone is sucking all the breath out of your lungs.
Everybody is talking and staring; you feel them talking behind your back.
You turn around, and they give you weird looks.
The voices in your head have turned against you.
You feel like you are not worthy of being loved and you do not belong anywhere.
At one point every person is embarrassed or ashamed about something they did.
The most important things to remember is that
Everybody makes mistakes; you deserve a second chance to make it okay.
One day soon they shall forget about it, so should you.
You are not the problem; they just do not know how to accept you for who you are. People do not know how to relate to something they are not
used to or something out of “normal” for them.  The world is a weird place where everybody wants others to fit into a mound they deem ‘good.’ You are just a curiosity, or you did something they consider curious that is why they are looking at you.
Humans have a very short attention span. Something else that they deem more important will come their way, and they shall be off chasing that. They will soon leave you alone.
Do not give embarrassment or shame the power over you. YOU ARE POWERFUL, YOU ARE STRONG, AND YOU ARE IN CONTROL. If you let the embarrassment and fear of shame rule your life, then it shall take control and ruin you. It can drive you into drinking, depression, violence, aggression, addiction and eating disorders. Do not put your happiness in the hands of other people.
Not everyone is out to harm you or say mean things about you; some comments are just innocent. When someone comments about your parenting style, they are not criticizing.
You are doing the best you can, stop comparing yourself with other people. If you were meant to get there, you will at the time you are supposed to. Not anytime sooner or later.
Hope this was helpful.
