As we said yesterday kidney failure could be detected by
blood tests and often most people, do not even realize their kidneys have
failed.
When the kidneys are damaged, then they do not function as
well as they used to before. Chronic Kidney failure does not just happen
overnight, except in rare cases, but it occurs when the kidneys become less and
less functional every time.
The causes of kidney failure include:
1. The most common
cause is when one is sick, and the illness continues to damage the kidney over
time. Some of the common diseases include Diabetes and High Blood Pressure.
Others include lupus, nephrotic syndrome and genetic diseases like polycystic
kidney disease.
2. Urinary tract
infections can also cause kidney failure.
3. A hard blow is
causing trauma to the kidneys.
4. Severe
dehydration.
5. Diseases that
slow blood flow to the kidneys.
6. A heart attack
can cause rapid loss of kidney functions.
7. Drug and
substance abuse.
These are just a few of the causes of kidney failure with
the most common being other diseases.
