HOW TO EMBRACE YOUR CURVES.

At one point in life or the other, we have all been self-conscious about how we look and how others perceive us. Hollywood has created this ridiculous stereotype that for you to be viewed as sexy, you have to fit a particular body type. I have started several workout programs after watching BeyoncĂ©’ singing or watching a movie where the actress looked for ridiculously hot. Those programs did not last long because I was trying to look like someone else. Everybody is unique, just because you have curves does not mean you are unhealthy. I have been with people who I admire because they workout, they eat a healthy balanced diet but they also do not deny themselves that treat one’s in a while. They have curves, and they are proud of them because they are living a full, well-balanced life. Getting to the point where you accept yourself for who you are and live your best life is hard, but we are here to help with that. We came up with several tips to help you embrace your curves.

ADVICE FROM AN 85-YEAR-OLD WOMAN.

My grandma asked me a question yesterday that got me thinking.
If someone walked right up to you right now and shot you on the head.
One straight shot ensuring you have zero chances of survival, would you regret anything?
Have you lived your best life?
Is there something that you lay to sleep every night and regret not doing?
She said, “We all think we have time until time runs out and we are left with is a pile of I wish I knew.”
Nobody ever thinks they are going to die and we are never in fear for our lives every day.
A man walking down the street, happy and healthy and he collapses and just like that he is gone. Heart attack.
A woman traveling home to see her kids or parents. The car she is in runs into a lorry. Just like that she is gone.
A family traveling home for the holiday on a plane and it crashes into the ocean. Just like that the whole family is gone.
Life is very fickle.
There are so many things that can happen and each day we survive it is by God’s grace.
So why not take advantage of the life we have been granted for free?
Why not live our best life each and every day?
Do not put off what you have wanted to do because you think that there is tomorrow.
Do not put off taking care of yourself because you will start tomorrow.
Tomorrow might never come.
You may go to bed today and not wake up.
My mum said something to me that has stuck with me ever since, “At the end of each day, take a moment and reflect. Ask yourself what have I accomplished today?”
Take pride in the little achievements you make. You accomplished it and every big journey starts with one step.
Be kind to everybody, not just the people you know.
Love your neighbors as you love yourself.
Exercise, even if it is just a thirty-minute walk.
Eat healthy, ditch the chips for some carrots.
Do not be too hard on yourself, everybody makes mistakes. Apologise and move on.
Do not put off tomorrow what can be done today.
Live your life in the best way you know how.
Do not aim to make other people proud, aim to make yourself proud.
At the end of each day ask, “Am I living my best life?”
And always remember our mantra:
You are Confidence.
You are Awesome.
You are Amazing.
With that wealth of knowledge, I bid you goodbye.
Until next time adios.
