HARD TIME GETTING A JOB?
In an economy that is crushing globally finding a job is like
looking for a needle in a pile of needles.
The era where our parents used to graduate from college and
get a job before they even stepped out of school is over.
The job market is everybody for themselves and God for us
all.
To survive you have to think outside the box.
Or just be a shark in an ocean full of tiny fishes.
Everybody tells you to think outside the box and no one ever
tells you how to think outside the box.
I decided to do that today, to tell you how to hustle.
1. Be creative.
Being creative does not mean you have to come up with new
ideas or invent new ways. What could be invented has already been invented?
What you should do is find something that has been done and you are passionate
about and give it a twist. Take a chair, give it wheels and call it a wheelchair.
Slap some tags on it and specifications and you just got yourself a million-dollar
idea.
2. Never ever
depend on one thing.
The saying never put all your eggs in one basket is so true
because when that basket falls most of the eggs will break and you cannot make
an omelet from eggs with shells. If you have a job open a side business related
to what you do at work. For example, if you work in a construction company open
a warehouse and employ people to look after it while you are at work. Do not
forget to check on your business thou, because if you forget it, it will fail.
SO that one day when you get to work and the company is shut down you are okay.
If you have a business have another one that compliments the main business,
like bread and butter.
If you do not have a job like me then my main advice is to
follow every idea you have even if you think it is stupid. Go after it with
zeal and enthusiasm, you never know you might be the next Bill Gates because
you invented the flying car.
3. Always
overachieve.
How far are you willing to go for your company or business
or personal life? A true hustler always knows that it is never too far. As long
as it is legal then it is fine. There was one man when people were sending out their
curriculum vitae, he stood on a busy road with a sign asking for a job. He
stated his qualifications on the sign very clearly, that got media attention
and less than a week later he had a job. Do not sleep and cry that you do not
have a job, go out there and grab it.
4. Network.
A true hustler understands that you are only as good as your
network and support system. Build an environment around you that boosts you
every day. Have people who understand what you are doing and why. Have a mentor
who did it so they can tell you where they went wrong and you can avoid the
mistakes they made. Be proactive.
5. The hustle is
all day, every day.
True hustlers understand that when you go to sleep you dream
your vision. You strategize all day on how to improve yourself and your business.
You eat your goals. You basically breathe your goals. The hustle never ends
until you achieve.
One thing that someone said to me and it stuck with me was
that if you cannot make money while you are sleeping then you will be working
for someone the rest of your life. Find something that generates money even if
you are in bed.
With those mind-blowing advice, I bid you goodbye.
